<bug_description>The Mercur Mailserver is a small Mail Transfer Agent (MTA). There were several critical buffer overflows in the system: Within the SMTP command "mail from", the POP3 command "user" and the IMAP command "login". The application will crash if an overly long string is used as an argument to any of these commands. It may also be possible to run arbritrary code with the server privileges.</bug_description>
<bug_solution>This issue seems to be resolved in newer versions of Mercur Mailserver. Please update to the latest version.</bug_solution>
